Per diem and lodging are generally provided on a project-by-project basis when work is more than 50 miles from the office and requires an overnight stay. Survey often runs 8 days from Wed-Wed., with 6 days off between work sessions.

Pay rates increase with responsibilities, experience, and time with the company. Performance bonuses also occur regularly. Woods Canyon offers the following to start as a crew member:

 

• Eligibility for the Simplified Employee Pension Plan (SEP) after 12 months of employment. The SEP is an account set up in the employee’s name and Woods Canyon contributes a percentage of gross income to that fund yearly. We have contributed around 6% per year the last three years which is on top of rather than out of your earnings

• Vacation accrual (PTO) based on hours worked, starting with 2 weeks (80 hours) per calendar year

• Paid federal holidays when you work within the pay period of that holiday

• PPE stipends occur periodically with basic PPE provided (hard hat, vest, etc.) if required by the project

• The health and welfare fringe is to cover 75% or more of health care insurance. We do not have a company plan in place at this time. Full-time equates to just under $10k of H&W fringe earnings which funds most plans for an individual.
