The MAPL Project: Introduction
The MAPL Project was a pipeline excavation project conducted along the Williams Company’s Rocky
Mountain Loop Pipeline. Woods Canyon’s portion of the project was located along 200 miles of the
pipeline in northwestern New Mexico and southwestern Colorado. On the MAPL project, Woods
Canyon conducted excavations on sites that dated to the prehistoric Archaic and Anasazi and
protohistoric Navajo periods.
