Site Layout
Pueblo I sites, which usually have an axial layout, typically have surface architecture to the north, one
or more centrally located pithouses, and a trash midden to the south or southeast. Most, but not all, of
the project area Pueblo I sites exhibited a similar layout, in which the surface rooms (green) were
located to the north of the pithouse(s) (red); and middens (dashed blue), when present, were located
to the south or southeast of both.
