dendrochronological
(tree-ring) dating
Age of Sites:
Structures at nine of the sites had
well-preserved wood beams that
produced a large sample of
dendrochronological dates. This
graph illustrates the cutting and
important non-cutting dates
obtained from the Pueblo I sites
along the MAPL pipeline corridor.

As can be seen, most of the sites
were occupied in the period 800-
820 A.D. A few of the sites may
have been first occupied in the
780's and two (5DL2 and
5LP379) had occupations into the
840's. One site (LA80321) was
built and occupied in the period
850-870.
